Quality QUALITYWISE - About Us

Our aim is to help organizations become superior, to continually achieve and prosper, and not settle for marginal gains. We offer education, training, and consulting services to small and midsize organizations, such as businesses, schools, government agencies, and non-profits.

We use simple, clearly-understandable approaches to assist you to identify your own needs and solutions. We do not force "best practices" between dissimilar organizations.

We teach your staff so that skills and expertise are retained.  We use proven methods to assist you and your staff through all phases of organizational change and continuous quality improvement.

We insist on a Post-Engagement Analysis of our work. We want to provide superior service, and we depend on our clients' feedback.

You hire a team of consultants, not a single consultant. The two principal consultants, Ed Fincke and Bill Tibbey, are involved in all engagements, with one of them assigned as the Project Leader.

Our consulting is a personal service. We look for a good client-consultant relationship based on trust and respect, where we can work hard to have an impact on an organization over time. We expect the client to be an active partner in managing this relationship.

Fees. Most services are billed on a per-diem or project basis. Retainers are used for long-term projects. The basis for fees will be outlined and agreed upon in advance.

Principal Consultants

QUALITYWISE was founded by Edwin Fincke and William Tibbey. Their goal is to help organizations succeed by improving productivity and customer service. Both Ed and Bill have teaching and business experience in organizational development and leadership.

Edwin Fincke graduated from Colgate University and the Naval Postgraduate School, where he later served as an assistant professor of financial management. He developed a 200-employee public transit organization around quality principles and won a state quality award. He is an adjunct faculty member of Golden Gate University and Saint Mary's College, is a senior examiner for the California Quality awards, and is certified as a Quality Manager by the American Society for Quality.
William Tibbey earned a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree at San Francisco State, and a Doctoral Degree in Education at UC Berkeley. He has held positions as teacher, principal at all levels, assistant superintendent, and university professor and department head. He has been recognized nationally and statewide for his work in school reform and improving student performance. Bill was recently appointed president of the alumni association of the Graduate School of Education, UC Berkeley. He provides consulting services for school districts and businesses and instructs at St. Mary's College.

We guarantee our work:

If we do not meet our client's expectations, the client pays us less than the agreed fee; that is, whatever the client deems fair and appropriate.

If we meet the client's expectations, the client pays the negotiated fee.

If we exceed our client's expectations, the client pays more than the agreed fee, that is, whatever the client deems fair and appropriate.
